Making a decision to buy a car is only half the battle; once your children start to have driving lessons then you need to think about whether to buy a new or used car. For some the cost of a new car is simply out of the budget that they have planned for their vehicle. When using a driving school you are abe to use there car whihcare normally new however a used can be just a benefical for a new driver. Buying a second hand car offers the opportunity to obtain a great car that may only be a year or so old. There are a few things that should be remembered though before purchasing a second hand car.
Currently there are many used cars on the market that have decreased considerably in value. These cars are just as good as they were in the past; the only difference being people are just not buying at the moment. Consequently there has never been a better time to purchase a used car. Just because these motors are at great prices doesnt mean you should be lax in checking it out thoroughly before the purchase.
If you are unsure how to go about this, take somebody with you who does. There are many things to check and a look in the bonnet and a quick test drive will not answer all the questions. That is why a knowledgeable person or even a mechanic will be able to fill you in on the condition of the car. Also, the people you take along with you may be able to hear some sounds on the test drive that may not be healthy ones, sounds that you may not notice.
Ensure that your test drive is not a short, quick one. Spend as much time as possible in the car. You cant tell how comfortable the car will be to drive in only a few minutes. You also will not be able to see how the car reacts after being driven for a longer period of time.
