Many people out there love to cook and there are few who are learning to cook. We all know now that we cannot live on takeaways all our life so we need to start cooking sooner than later to have a healthy lifestyle. Many people learn to cook because they are moving away from home to live in the University and many learn from the young age knowing the fact that they won’t be able to eat their mother’s cooking all their life. Many read cook books to have some knowledge on how to start cooking.

You can buy second hand books on cooking through many websites and local stores. I know books are expensive but there are some stores and website which do second hand books from only £1, so you won’t have to spend a lot of money on them. People who have no idea on how to cook, reading cook book is certainly a way forward for them. Another idea on learning to cook would be to look and learn when someone is cooking. The techniques they use while cooking will give you an idea of how to start cooking.

Cooking the food is easy but preparing is the hardest part. Every cooking book you read will have a short desription on how to prepare the food before you get to the nitty gritty of cooking. A lot of people have said that while cooking the preparation of it is why it takes so long to cook. If you understand how to prepare the food then you will understand how to cook the food. As I mentioned earlier being a shadow or watching someone cook is a great way of understanding cooking.

Beofre I moved away from home for University I watched my mom cook for few months. Now I can say I will be able to cook any sort of food because I now the technique on how to cook it. Then few weeks before to University I cooked few meals for my family and it wasn’t that bad as I thought it would be. Reading cook books also has made me read non fiction books.

Many people read cheap books around the continent. The reason some people read is to improve their grammar and knowledge and some feel it makes them intelligent. People want to know what the top influential books in the World are, whether they are beginners or people who have been reading for a while. There are upto 100 of books recommended by various sources but I will only be talking about the top twenty.

A lot of people do not agree with religious books being on the top 100 influential books but they have to realise that religion has always been influential in human era. Here are the top twenty influential books recommended by Seymour Smith in no particular order.

The I Ching Chinese classic texts, The Old Testament, The Way and Its Power, The Iliad and The Odysseyby Homer, Lao-tzu, The Avesta, Analects Confucius, The Upanishads, Hindu scripture, Thucydides, Works Hippocrates, History of the Peloponnesian War, History Herodotus, Works Aristotle, Elements Euclid, The Dhammapada, Aeneid Virgil, The Republic Plato, Lucretius Allegorical Expositions of the Holy Laws, On the Nature of Reality, Philo of Alexandria, The New Testament, Lives Plutarch, Annals from the Death of the Divine Augustus Cornelius Tacitus.

Yes unfortunately most of them are religious books but they do hold a massive importance on people’s lives. Here are some of the books I feel should be in the top 20 if not then top 50 certainly.

Principia Mathematica by Isaac Newton, Married Love by Marie Stopes, On The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin, Book of Rules of Association Football by a group of former English public school men, A vindication of the Rights Of Woman by Mary Wollstonecraft, The First Folio by William Shakespeare, On the Abolition of the Slave trade by William Wilberforce, and Magna Carta by members of the English ruling classes.

If you think there are other non fiction books or children’s books or any other books that you feel should be in top 100 then feel free to comment below.

People like to travel quite often over a period of 56 weeks. Many people like to pass time by doing various things when travelling via an aeroplane, ferry or train to pass time. Some like to listen to music when travelling. Some planes have TV so many people enjoy watching movies to spend time. Some read second hand books because to pass time.

If you are travelling quite a distance then it can be boring long journey and not everyone can sleep through the journey. Reading books and watching films is definitely one of the enjoyable time passes when you are travelling through on a place, train or a ferry. To be honest reading is not just about passing time, you can read books to grow your knowledge, or you can read something that can in handy for you in the near future, like for your work or school. It can be absolutely anything, reading is very good for your brain, you will learn new words and new expressions and emotions. It has always been proving knowledge to people so why not you take an advantage of it while travelling.

when I am travelling on a train or plane I always have mystery books and history books of the city or the country I am going to. It’s great to have some knowledge of the place you are visiting just in case if you come across few local people while drinking in the bar, you can have a debate in it. this knowledge can also be impressive amongst the women you meet there, hey you never know. So be prepared for all kind of excitement while travelling. She could just be your soul mate.

If you are travelling in to a different country then it might be useful reading the language book or dictionary just to understand and say the basic words when you get there. Sentences like “Do you know how to get here?”, “Where is this?”, “please”, “thank you”, “how are you” and others can be very useful to know.

Many of us are talented when it comes to cooking but some of us haven’t got a clue how to cook. That is exactly why people like me will have to buy cooking books to feed myself. Cooking is definitely an art. When you first start you care basically crap but the more and more you cook the better your cooking gets.

When cooking it is important to have an idea on how much ingredients you need to have. Apparently it is also important to cut the vegetables and meats in a right way to make it taste better. We have a family restaurant and I asked my chef why he cuts the chicken in a different way than to lamb and beef. He said that the cutting also plays a part in food tasting good. Then again the dish his wife cooked tasted better than his. For some reason when cooking food, the food women cooked tastes much better than men even if he is a celebrity chef.

In January I bought a cooking book to learn to cook indian dishes. First dish I made turned out to be ok it was edible but it wasn’t WOW. I have been cooking a lot of Indian dishes lately and I have to admit after 4 months I don’t need a cook book to make any Indian dish because I just know the basic. It still doesn’t taste as good as the professional’s cooking but who is competing eh, as long as it keeps my partner happy I am happy.

I have also started reading a lot of other books and newspapers because of thse cooking books. I hated reading books when I was young and now I am reading all types of genres from fiction, drama, sports to romantic books. It helps to learn new words and also writing skills as I write a lot of blogs. My local bargain book sellers are making good profit because of me. I have also recommended my friends to cook their partner a lovely meal often as they must get tired of cooking for us lazy bums.

How Many Books Will You Read in Your Life?

Reading is definitely an active process. You will need to be very active if you want to understand something that you read. Its always important to understand the things you read. Reading books in English definitely helps you improve your English reading and writing skills. It doesn’t matter, which books you read. Just purchase any cheap books and keep reading week in and week out and after few months you will notice the improvements in your English.

Reading also helps when you are trying to learn a new language. There are other ways to learn new language, listen to CDs in the car and online video tutorials but reading, writing and speaking are definitely more effective than these. Read and then having a group conversation about the topic you just read is a good way of improving any sort of language. Few years ago when I wanted to learn English I started with reading children’s books. I felt I needed to start reading the books, which are not so complicated to understand and then I moved on to fiction books to make my English advanced.

Reading books has helped me improve a lot of my skills. I have found new words, which I haven’t even heard about before. And because now I understand what it means, I have started using these words. It has significantly improved my writing skills at work. When you read a lot then you get a good picture on how to write. You learn to write in a way that you can add emotions and expressions, which is a massive boost because people are more interested in reading interesting articles than boring.

Reading is most people hobby. Some like to read before they goto bed. Some like to read newspapers early in the morning and some just read magazines. You don’t have to read books to improve your English. You can browse the Internet and read articles and blogs on your interesting subject. It can be anything.

Thought I will add a video for some entertainment.

Blog by Anna Ohlden on March 25th 2009 said that top medical experts are saying reading books can improve your health. We all know that reading books improves general knowledge and English but science has proven that it improves the health as well. Many Doctors these days believe that reading a good book can actually improve your health, which is great news; because I read daily and so do you. Currently you are reading this blog and also improving your health.

When I arrive in the UK 15 years ago, I was not fluent in English and used to struggle to hold a conversation. I started reading lots of books in English. I didn’t have a particular choice of reading and still do not; I just read any book to improve my English. I used to round to my local cheap book sellers in a weekly basis as they has good quality second hand books in cheap prices.

There were also school books to help my general knowledge and to improve my education but in my spare time I used to read more books such as childrens books and other fiction books. Moving to UK was a whole cultural change for me, I was very young and have to adapt to the new change as soon as possible. Within few weeks of arriving in the UK, I felt home sick and was mentally ill and depressed. Then I started reading books to keep me occupied in my spare time, as we didn’t have Internet then.

After school many children used to go play outside with their friends but I used to sit at home in my room reading books and now I am very glad I did that because reading books gave me a creative mind. I started doing things which I never thought about but they were all creative. I was going outside taking photographs, looking for new things to write my own books. I do believe reading books helps improve mental health as it improved mine.

People are always looking to find cheap second hand things. We have a sale mind is us. The first thing we look at is the sale items even if its online shopping or just general shopping. Especially when buying books, you rather buy second hand books other than the brand new one because it saves us money a lot of money to be honest. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s second hand; I just read it and then put it away in the shelf.

There are various shops and Website where you can buy cheap books in a very cheap price. Buying cheap second hand books saves you a lot of money. By second hand books it doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t get readable or usable books, it will be as readable as the new book with the same content.

Especially for students buying education books for higher level courses can cost a fortune and I have been through it, so buying second hand educational books can save students a lot of money. It’s not just education books you can buy, you can purchase cook books for anyone who loves to cook. If you read a lot then you can find several romantic books and fiction books to add to your collection.

So take a forward step to buy second hand books and save money. You will have to spend some time on the Internet to find the best resource who do good quality second hand books. There is always a concern in your mind when purchasing anything from the Internet, and especially for the books as you cannot see it, so make sure you read the reviews, description and the status of the book before purchasing it.

Now that Katie Price has got hitched again I can already feel a new book coming out.

I have lost count of the amount of books she has already published. I can’t believe at the age of 31 she has managed to bring out so many autobiographies. It’s strange as I always thought that your autobiography covered your whole life, not just a year or two. Mind you she probably packs more into one of her years than the majority of us do a lifetime. If you search through the non fiction books section in any bookshop you will be swamped with her books. Nowadays due to her dwindling popularity I bet a lot of her books will be found in the bargain books section.

I can’t pass judgement on how good or bad her books are because in all honesty she doesn’t interest me in the slightest to even consider buying one of her publications. In my opinion, she is one of the most irritating women around. She is always in one paper or magazine and unfortunately it isn’t always for the right reasons. She just seems to thrive on publicity, be it good or bad.

I will say that sometimes I do feel sorry for her children. Unfortunately nowadays it is a sad fact of life that many marriages hit the rocks. Sadly though if you believe everything you read in the papers, it would appear that her children do seem to be shoved around from one carer to another. How can they have any stability at all in their lives? I can imagine that some nights they don’t know where they are spending the night, or even who with.

I didn’t realise that Katie has also written various childrens books. Somehow I can’t see Katie Price tucking her kids in at night and then reading them a wonderful bedtime story like most mums enjoy doing.

However, my perception of Katie could be way off base and she could be a brilliant wife and mother. The truth is we only see what Katie wants us to see, so who knows the real Katie

It’s that time of the year when spring is but a few weeks away and for most of us that can only mean one thing – time to tidy up.

Last weekend the sun was shining and so unfortunately this made the house look a bit grotty and I could see layers of dust that really shouldn’t be there. Because of this I decided that in my house spring had arrived early and it was definitely time to start the cleaning.

It all began with all good intentions of me cleaning the house from top to bottom. First on my list was the kitchen, which actually took a little longer than I thought it would, so already I was fading fast. However I persevered and next on the list was clearing out the Utility room. In our house, this room in particular is one where everything gets shoved and then we close the door. I hadn’t been working long when I stumbled across a load of cheap books that my mum had given to me. This set me off on a lovely trip down memory lane and that was the end of my cleaning for the day.

My mum was what you would call a book addict and was always at her best when she was reading. She didn’t really mind what she read it could be anything ranging from fiction books, romance books and she even owned a few cook books. I’m not sure why she had the cook books, because she never really seemed to be adventurous with her cooking. Perhaps she just enjoyed looking at all the pictures!

Suddenly I was back 5 years ago when we had all gone on holiday together to the Canary Islands. In my cases I had packed all the usual holiday necessities, sun tan lotion, swimming costumes and beach towels. I was flabbergasted because when mum unpacked her case it was full up with loads of books. Without a lie I think she had nearly a dozen with her. I thought this was really funny as we were only staying at the villa for 2 weeks. Mind you I will admit she came home with a fantastic suntan because she had spent her entire holiday sunbathing around the pool with a book in one hand and a glass of wine in the other.

The spring cleaning didn’t really go the way I had planned, but then you know what it can be like sometimes when you get distracted and when cleaning is involved, I can’t say that I really mind.

This post takes a look at the similarities and differences between the Kindle DX & The Kindle with Global Wireless.

The most obvious difference between the two Kindle wireless reading devices available for purchase at this time is that just one works in America while the other works in over 100 countries all over the world. If you live somewhere besides the US (or if you are a US citizen who often visits other countries) then that makes your decision (such as it is) quite clear; You must choose the Kindle with Global Wireless.

Besides that, the biggest difference between the two is that of their sizes. The Kindle DX Electronic Reading Device is bigger both as far it’s display size and it’s memory capabilities. It is also far bigger as far as it’s cost.

While the DX is 9.7 inches, the Kindle with Global Wireless is just 6 inches. The bigger display is particularly helpful when reading a digital newspaper On the flip side, the smaller size of the regular version can make it easier to take around with you.

There’s also a big difference as far as memory size. The Kindle DX Electronic Reading Device can hold up to 3,500 books while the smaller version can hold about 1,500 books. Although, who has that many books?! I have a difficult time believing this extra space that the DX has is needed for most potential buyers.

Another difference between the two is the auto-rotating screen that the DX has.The DX also has a built in PDF reader that the smaller version does not have.

Both kindles can download from a selection of about 400,000 books, magazines, and newspapers which can all be bought for much lower prices than their paper alternatives. These books can all be downloaded within just 60 seconds from anywhere (they have G3 wireless so there’s no need to search for wi-fi spots.)

Both kindles have text to speech software which can turn all of your books into audio books.

Neither of these reading devices have any monthly charges to worry about. The way the wireless service works is a lot like the service for a GPS. Once you get the gadget the wireless just works, there’s nothing else to worry about and no bills to pay.

They both have a basic web browswer that lets you surf the web from anywhere. It should be noted that this web browswer is meant for text based informational sites such as Wikipedia and blogs. It’s not for pictures or videos.

They both have a “no glare” display that “reads like paper.” If you are worried that reading this will be similar to reading your computer’s monitor then don’t be! It’s not like that at all.
